Skin Health

Medical-grade skin health protocols addressing texture, tone, hydration, and long-term maintenance. Treatment begins with a skin assessment, not a product recommendation.

Our approach to skin health

Skin health is the foundation of any aesthetic outcome. No injectable treatment performs or maintains its results well in compromised skin. Our approach begins with an assessment of your current skin condition, your history of sun exposure, known sensitivities, current skincare routine, and your goals. From there, we recommend protocols suited to your skin type, not a generic regimen.

What we address

Common skin concerns that benefit from medical-grade intervention include: uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation, rough texture and visible pores, dryness and impaired skin barrier, early signs of photoaging, acne-prone skin, and post-inflammatory changes. Not all concerns require the same intervention, and some are better addressed with topical management than procedures.

Medical-grade topicals

Prescription-strength and professional-grade topical products — including retinoids, growth factors, and medical-grade sunscreens — form the core of most effective skin health programs. These differ from over-the-counter products in concentration, formulation quality, and the level of evidence behind their use. We prescribe or recommend products appropriate to your skin type and concerns.

Exfoliation and resurfacing

Chemical exfoliation (peels), enzyme treatments, and physical exfoliation protocols can address texture and tone for appropriate candidates. Depth and strength are matched to your Fitzpatrick skin type, history of pigmentation, and treatment goals. We do not recommend aggressive resurfacing without a proper baseline assessment.

Who may benefit

Patients interested in improving skin quality as a standalone goal, and patients who want to optimize their skin condition before or after injectable treatments. A skin health consultation is appropriate for any adult concerned about their skin who wants a clinical rather than commercial assessment.

Who should proceed carefully

Patients with a history of melasma, keloids, or significant pigmentation irregularities require conservative management. Active acne, rosacea, eczema, or other inflammatory conditions may need to be stabilized before elective procedures. Certain systemic medications (including isotretinoin) require washout periods before some treatments.

What to expect

A skin health consultation involves examining your skin in natural light, reviewing your history, discussing your current routine, and developing a plan. Protocols may be phased — starting with barrier repair and sun protection before progressing to active treatments. Consistent home care is as important as in-office procedures.

Results vary

Skin quality improvement takes time. Most topical protocols require 3 to 6 months of consistent use to show meaningful change. Procedural treatments may produce faster visible improvement in some concerns, but durability depends on ongoing maintenance and sun protection. We set realistic timelines at consultation.

When to contact us

Contact us if you experience unexpected irritation, a reaction to a recommended product, or a change in your skin that concerns you. Discontinue any topical that causes significant burning, swelling, or rash and contact us before restarting.
